TENSES USED IN SENTENCES

PRESENT TENSE 

When  we talk about something that is happening  –  TODAY.

1. I am having breakfast before I leave.
2. We are at the mall.
3. I am buying myself a cell phone.
4. The shop is expensive.
5. I am at the movies.
6. The movie is exciting.
7. Allan is taking a taxi home.
8. He is getting ready for bed.
9. Kim is on her way to school.
10. The sheep is having a baby.
11. Peter is watering the garden.
12. I am learning English.

 

PAST TENSE  

When we talk about something that did happen  –  YESTERDAY

1. I had breakfast before I left.
2. We were at the mall.
3. I bought myself a cell phone.
4. The shop was expensive.
5. I was at the movies.
6. The movie was exciting.
7. Allan took a taxi home.
8. He got ready for bed.
9. Kim was on her way to school.
10. The sheep had a baby.
11. Peter did water the garden.
12. I did learn English.

 

FUTURE TENSE 

 

When we walk about something that is still gonna happen – TOMORROW

1. I will have breakfast before I leave.
2. We will be at the mall.
3. I will be buying myself a cell phone.
4. The shop will be expensive.
5. I will be at the movies.
6. The movie will be exciting.
7. Allan will be taking a taxi home.
8. He will be getting ready for bed.
9. Kim will be on her way to school.
10. The sheep will be having a baby.
11. Peter will be watering the garden.
12. I will be learning English.
