Whenever we write or talk we use different kinds of words
Through sentences we tell people how we feel , we express ourselves with different words. Word Classes makes it easier to learn to listen, speak , read and write english.
BREAKDOWN OF WORD CLASSES
There are eight word classes . Each Word Class has there own job. Below is a breakdown.
NOUNS
Names of a person or animal . A feeling or a thing.
eg, Aliya, Rania, Kyle, lion
Sentence with noun – Ali loves to gym and pick up weights.
Are words that replaces a noun
eg, she, he, that , them, it
Sentence with pronoun – He was afraid of putting on weight.
Describes Nouns and Pronouns. They add interest and meaning to sentences.
eg, fluffy, small, big, frustrating, kind
Sentence with adjective – The gym was filled with heavy equipment.
VERBS
Is a doing or action word. Every sentences always has 1 verb.
eg, baking, cooking, be, have, run, hike
Sentence with verb – Ali ran on the threadmill.
ADVERBS
Is a word that describes the Verb and also modify an Adjectives
eg, soon, quickly, fiercely, thoroughly
Sentence with adverb – Ali arrived late at the gym and parked his car outside.
PREPOSITIONS
Is a small word that joins to sentences to one another.
eg, above, whilst, through, after
Sentence with preposition – He runs through the parking lot to get to the gym.
CONJUNCTIONS
Joins words , phrases and clauses together to form a sentence.
eg, because, therefore, but, when, and
Sentence with conjunction – I stay away from the gym because I love eating.
DETERMINERS
The word comes before a noun to make the sentence clearer.
eg, every, the, a, with
Sentence with determiner – A gym helps us to get our bodies into shape and to stay healthy.
